【DESCRIPTION】 Title 2 Tasteful Kakejiku(Hanging Scrolls)
Good tasteful item!
This item is a set of 2 Kakejiku. *kakejiku is a Japanese scroll painting or calligraphy mounted with brocade fabric edges on a flexible backing, so that it can be rolled for storage.
The one of them, with a box, it says 'Syonan-sensei Minamonto no Yoshiie Syogun no Samurai' means Master Syonan, samurai of Minamonto no Yoshiie Syogun. We can not say for sure who is the writer of this kakejiku nor when this was written, but we assume this is somehow related to Minamoto no Yoshiie.
Minamoto no Yoshiie (1039-1106) was a Minamoto clan samurai of the late Heian period, and Chinjufu shogun (Commander-in-chief of the defense of the North). The first son of Minamoto no Yoriyoshi, he proved himself in battle with the Abe clan in the Zenkunen War (Early Nine Years' War) and the Kiyowara clan in the Gosannen War (Later Three Years' War). Subsequently, he became something of a paragon of samurai skill and bravery.
The another kakejiku looks like printed by ink or sumi ink. About this one either we can not say when this was written/made nor who is the author.
Kakejiku is displayed in Japanese traditional rooms. How about put these kakejiku in your house? That will bring much Japanese taste to your place.
If you are interested in Kakejiku or Japanese art, this will be a great collection for you!!
