This item is super deluxe edition, large format and the cover is made of genuine leather.
The retail price when published was about $500, so this is good deal for you.
This contains total 112 photos of Samurai armor (Katchu) from Heian period (8c-) through to Edo period (-1867) including approx 32 National Trasures and approx 34 Important Cultural Assets.
Katchu in this book are from Tokyo National Museum, Yasukuni shrine, Kasuga-taisya and so on.

This has a large piece of paper showing names of part of armors (in Japanese) as appendix.
38 photos are color printed.
Each Katchu is printed in one page, large format, so you can enjoy the dinamic wonderful armors which take very important role in Japanese history!
In the preface, Chogoro Kaionji says;
'How beautiful Japanese armors are. Needless to say, Katchu are for the war, to fight. It would be ok if it is practical. These armors are, however, made beautifully and exquisitely because of the sense of beauty of Japanese people I assume'
Chogoro Kaionji was the pen-name of a Japanese author noted for historical fiction novels, and active in Showa period Japan. He won the 16th Kikuchi Prize in 1968, and was made a member of the review committee for the Naoki Prize in 1970. He wrote the preface for this book in the hospital.
