They are divided in two parts; Buildings and Arts.
There are approx 4178 buildings and 10283 arts as Improtant Cultural Assets today.
This item Buildings -Vol.12 to 17 contains photos of all Important Cultural Assets at the time this was published such as Temples, Shrines, Samurai castles and Japanese style houses and Western style ones.
All works on these books are represented the culture of Japan, and deeply related to the belief of Japanese people from long time ago.
Vol.12 -15 -Temples and Shrines
Buddhism were imported to Japan before 6th century, and people believed that Buddhism can save people from evel things such as disaster and disease.
Shinto shrines, its purpose is for the enshrinement and worship of a God.
Vol.16 -Samurai castles, reading rooms and tea rooms
Japanese castles were fortresses composed primarily of wood and stone. The castles were built to guard important or strategic sites, such as ports, river crossings, or crossroads, and almost always incorporated the landscape into their defense.
Vol.17 -Japanese style and Western style houses and Bridges
Each volume has approx 10 full colored photos and many in black and white.
