This item is 5 pieces set of the pictures exhibited in Seitoku memorial art museum in Meiji Jingu (Meiji Shrine). This was an appendix of magazines for girls at the time, in1931.
Meiji shrine, located in Tokyo, is known as one of the most famous shrines in Japan. The most people visit Meiji shrine on the New Year Day to make a wish for new year.
Seitoku memorial art museum is in the Meiji shrine. They have 80 pictures of accomplishments by Meiji Emperor who lived the period Edo to Meiji. The period is considered as the time Japan shifted its own nation from as Samurai society to as Westernized society.
In this Art museum, they exhibit 40 pictures of Japanese style drawings and 40 of western style. Some of the pictures are put on Japanese history textbook.
These 5 pieces of this item are those exhibited in the museum.
