This book contains a string of 20 works from among the "Symphony of light" The "Symphony of light" is Ichiku Kubota's lifework and will consist of a string of 80 works representing the 4seasons and the universe.He has created 34 works out of 80 so far,representing autumn,winter and beginning of spring.20 works,including 4 new works,appear in this catalogue.
Ichiku Kubota Mr.Kubota,who had been in the field of hand painted YUZEN textiles,was profoudly moved by the exhaustive medieval beauty of the small fragment of ancient textile of TSUJIGAHANA called the "phantasmal dyeing technique"in the collection of he tokyo National Museum.It was then that he determined to recreate this dyeing technique one day.
About Tsujigahan-Tsuji-ga-hana may be defined as “what is used on the premise of tie-dyeing with drawing pictures, impressing foil, and embroidering”. It has disappeared suddenly,so they are often called phantasmal Tsujigahana.
