This book was published as a pamphlet of an exhibition held in Japan 4years ago.
What is Tsusugaki?The preface says,"Tsutsugaki literallytube-drawn,is dyeing technique in which paper tubes of resist paste are aqueezed over a textile to draw resisit designs in the pre-dyeing process.The textile is then dyed in indigo and the designs show as white against the indigo blue ground.The lines created by the tsutsugaki technique show the free expression of the artisan wielding the paper-tube."
It contains approx fabulous 80 works included.Lists of plates written in English at the end of this book.Even if you don't understand Japanese,you will enjoy this book through many photos.
