This is the 13th volume of a series 'Ukiyoe compendium'(total 17 volumes), titled '36 Views of Mount Fuji'.
36 Views of Mount Fuji is an ukiyo-e series of 46 large, color woodblock prints by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849). The series depicts Mount Fuji in differing seasons and weather conditions from a variety of different places and distances.
This volume contains 46 color photos and approx 70 B&W photos of his works and of some other painter. Page 106-end comments of the works
Ukiyo-e, "pictures of the floating world", is a genre of Japanese woodblock prints (or woodcuts) and paintings produced between the 17th and the 20th centuries, featuring motifs of landscapes, the theatre and pleasure quarters. It is the main artistic genre of woodblock printing in Japan.
